Banking, together

A joint account for couples, flatmates or family. Manage your shared money together, transparently.

What is a Joint Account?

A Joint Account is a bank account held by two people. Both account holders have equal access — you both get your own debit card, your own app login, and can both see every transaction in real-time.

It's perfect for couples managing shared bills and savings, flatmates splitting household costs, or family members handling joint expenses.

You can open a Joint Account alongside your existing Personal Account, or as your main account. Both holders need to be 18+ and UK residents.

Built for two

Two cards, one account

Both account holders get their own contactless Mastercard debit card linked to the shared balance. Spend, withdraw and top up independently — but always from the same pot.

Total transparency

Every transaction is visible to both holders in real-time. No secrets, no surprises. Perfect for couples who want to manage money as a team.

Shared Spaces

Create joint savings pots for holidays, a house deposit, weddings — or anything you're saving for together. Watch your progress fill up as a team, or take turns contributing.

Individual security

Each account holder has their own secure login, biometric ID and PIN. Shared finances, individual privacy. Your phone, your app.

Joint spending insights

See combined spending automatically categorised. Know exactly how much you're both spending on groceries, eating out, or bills each month. Perfect for household budgeting.

FSCS protection doubled

Full FSCS protection up to £170,000 on joint accounts — that's £85,000 per account holder, protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Joint Account FAQs

Can we add a joint account if we already have individual accounts?
Yes. You can keep your individual accounts and open a joint one together. Many couples use the joint account for shared bills and keep personal accounts for individual spending.
What if we split up?
Either holder can request the account to be closed or frozen. We'll always require both signatures to make major changes, protecting both parties. If the relationship ends, contact us and we'll guide you through the process sensitively.
Do we both need to apply?
Yes, both account holders need to apply and pass identity verification. The second holder will receive an email invitation once the first has applied.
Can one of us transfer money without the other knowing?
No transaction is hidden. Both account holders see every transaction in real-time with instant notifications. Full transparency is built in.
Can we each have our own virtual cards?
Yes. Both holders can each have up to 5 active virtual cards at any time — that's 10 total for the joint account.
